Stories in Hand

I participated in an online class given by JessicaSprague called Stories in Hand. A 6x6 album was decorated with downlads from Jessica & filled with hundreds of memory prompts in different catagories. It took me a few hours to make the album. It is to be kept near my work area and when a blank is drawn on what to scrap or journal etc. waalla _the memory prompt book is right there! We are to dive deep or shallow in the prompts & journal the memories. I am going to use google docs to do my journaling. The prompts she gives are things that you would want to know about the past in photos but no one wrote them. They are prompts to help you tell your story for future generations & questions they might have in the future. We can scrap 100 layouts about birthday parties or scrap stories with photos for future generations to know about our lives & heritage. I made a second book for my daughter but she says she doesn't have time in her life right now to journal. But I bet sometime in the future this little book will be a great help to her to remember & to know what stories are important to past on.

Stella is having a big sale on her products

Go on over to her stores ,blog,or Stoneaccentsstudio to get the sales. She feautured this LO in the Aug. SAS newsletter

This is the fastest summer ever.It hasn't been that warm either.I haven't even turned on my central air! First time in 30 years.Global warming?I don't think I believe in it. I secretly think it is just a way to get more control of the people, get more money for a few to become bosses (leaders telling & monitoring the masses) & to become billionaires.Of course this is not politically correct. I believe political correctness is slowly destroying this nation.I don't believe all the propaganda our biased media puts out either.( It's more of what they don't report) Well enough of this rambling. I don't know why I am even writing this.
We had a big family reunion last week.First time in 127 years that the entire family was reunitied. My cousin Judy loves genealogy & found our lost relatives in Germany & they came to meet their American relatives.Five family branches were represented & over 200 people attended a two day celebration with bus tours, catered lunches, photographer etc.Judy has been working on the family tree & a book or CD's is done with over 1500 pages of history ,family pages, photos etc. I am getting 6 CD's in a nice box. Can't wait for it to arrive.
here's a photo of my grandparents that was very faded. I tried to restore it.

I've been tagged

Stella tagged me & I am suppose to write 7 things about my self (some randon & some weird)& then tag 7 other blogs.
1. I am presently playing the computer game BioShock-- a shooter type game which is not my favorite genre of games: but I am actually enjoying it.
2. I got the lastest game of NeverWintersNight and as soon as I finish BioShock & delete from my computer I will load this game. I can hardly wait.
3. I don't watch tv-rarely anyway.
4. I listen to talk radio alot.
5.I am a new grandmother of a beautiful little girl.
6. I have netflex & love it-watch at least 2 movies a week.
7.I joined Weight Watchers & lost 15 pounds.

I'll have to edit this post to add the blogs I tag to get the links etc. This is going to be hard since Stella has tagged her CT members blogs already & this would be who I would tag too.I don't know anyone with blogs.I do occasionally look at SAS members blogs posted in forum posts & of course I go to designer blogs & from those to others. Do I dare tag someone from SAS forums blogs?

Scrapper of the month

I was feautured as the SASy scrapper of the month in the Feb. newsletter. An article was written with alittle info about me and some of my LO's. I used my Elvis photo for my pic.It was quite a thrill and honor to be feautured. My sister Mikki was so impressed that her sis is famous for a month and laughed when she read I was a night owl.

Thank you StoneAccentsStudio

I'm a CT for CottageStella

Stella asked me to join her creative team for her StellarificDesigns creations. How could I refuse? I love her work. What an opportunity to grow and expand my horizons! This is a first time experience for me. I will learn as I go.
My first task I need to do is sign up for more scrapbooking sites to post my layouts made with Stella's kits. I want to get her CT blinkie in my signatures too.

I won this months life history challenge at StoneAccentsStudio for this layout.
It is an honor I appreciate:)

I joined Scrappersguide premier subscription and absolutely love it.I have received my first newsletter and have already learned so much. I am going to appreciate having photoshop elements6 for just this very reason. I loved my PaintShop Prox1 but it was so hard finding tutorials for this version to learn to scrapbook the newest and lastest techniques others are doing. I haven't even downloaded PSP on my new computer yet. I am sure I will since it does things Elements doesn't like mask work. But for now I want to get a handle on Elements6.It is like starting from the beginning since the programs are very different how they do things.

My New Dell Computer

It came Dec. 6th-St. Nicholas Day.It is a whooper of a computer.
XPS with quad core processor,500HD,3 ram, and 8800Gt video card.
22 inch monitor
Also came with Photoshop package of three programs-elements ,video and sound programs.
Roxio burner software ,antivirus etc

PhotoShopElements6

Learning Vista and photoshop elements at the same time was/is challenging.I thought I would be able to transfer more of my knowledge of PSP to Elements. The programs may do alot of the same things ---but in very different ways. Lots of trial and error. I am abit overwhelmed where to start in elements. There are so my subscriptions to purchase to learn it.The Ivillage photoshop elements site/forum has lots of free tuts but they are random not like the PSP user site that has self learning tuts in progressive technique-basics,beginners etc.Seems like if you want to learn Elements with out all the headache and time of trial and error you need to buy subscriptions -even for basics online classes like how to use your browser and layers at $20 a pop.The Photoshop elements techniques newsletter subscription seems to be highly recommended and also a premier subscription to ScrapperGuide. My concern is time committment. I don't want to get overwhelmed with all the tutorials to learn and apply .Knowing me if I pay for something then I will want to do every darn challenge and tut. I fell like I need both subscriptions.Maybe I should just start with one . I still participate at SASY and do all their challengess.
