Long time since I posted int his blog

I use to post free quickpages every month for blog trains when I was on Stellarific's Ct but that was before her site crashed & was never started again. It was such a fun site & I miss it!Stella has returned to her first love & has a site now for plants/herbs & another for her writing/poetry. Now I Ct for LightningBugCreations ( Carmen)who had her store at DigitalScrapbookingStudio ( formerly StoneAccentsStudio) but now is at IvyScraps.The Studio was my first home & I have never left it. So many wonderful people there. Mistybelle,Ambowife, Kimberkatt & more. I try to do Traci's Monday eve whisper chats. I wish Carmen was still at the studio because it is too hard for me to keep up with another site. And then oc course I belong to Linda Sattgast site,Digitalscrapping Guide and am a premier member for several years now. I absolutely love getting a kit, 4 lessons with video & PDF files & quickpages for a complete album every month.This is where I have learned all I know about digiscrapping. I've taken online classes there too. Lets Scrap & EasyPage Design- the most comprehensive classes anywhere on the web. Last but not least I am active at JessicaPrague's site too. Template tuesday Is really neat. I've taken several online classes on Jessica's site too. How to restore old photos class & a workflow for fixing photos class, heritage album class, & others.The most recent class there was by Carol Stringham on how to get my dslr camera off auto. It was great. I never knew how much fun photography could be.
So even though I haven't been posting to my blog alot I indeed have been busy digital scapbooking! I just finished an album on all my daughters birthdays & will be taking advantage of JessicaPragues summer special for 50% off photobook albums at PaperKiwi.

It sure has been along time since I have made a quickpage.I think the last time was for Stellarific's Blog walks at the Cottage before the site crashed & wasn't restarted.I take that back. I may have made a couple QP's for Ligthingbug Creations to use as she wished.
Also I am still participating in the 2011 Photowalk over at ElementsVillage & have a separate blog for that which I post a photo every single day.It is so much fun to visit all the other blogs in the challenge to see what photos they post for the different 365 themes we were given.

I started a different blog for the photowalk as was suggested in the forum at Elements village .It will be better to keep these digiscraping posts separate from the photowalk.

365 Challenge

This already is exciting & hasn't even officially started. I've got my theme list printed out , spruced up this blog by adding a new header & BG paper,got comments from fellow challenge participants & some followers of my blog for the challenge! Wow
I went to the share site at Shutterfly for the challenge & that looks very interesting too.

My New Camera

I did it! I bought myself a new camera for Christmas. A Nikon D5000 with 18-55 & a 55-200 VR zoom lenses.
It was hard for me to buy it because I am such a pragmatic person & I have a fijifilm finepix point & shoot camera that works just fine. I've wondered about D-SLR cameras for a while & have never had one . I have no intentions of even being an amateur photographer.I just want to take nice photos of my famiy for memory keeping & for my digitalscrapbooking. I've been reassured this camera will beat the pants off my point & shoot.
I signed up for 365 Challenge at Elements Village. In 2011 a photo a day to be taken using a theme list & posted on a blog to share with other members taking the challenge. It will be a great way to learn how to use my new camera. I've spent an evening reading the manual.It will take me a long time to learn this camera.First I will use auto mode & then just experiment with the two lens,then on to scene modes & maybe down the line I will venture a try at manual mode.But that is in the future.

Present/Past Christmas Album

I signed up for a "Holidays in Hand "class to create a Christmas album at Jessica Pragues .This project is alot harder to do than I anticipated. I have so few past Christmas photos.Oh how I wish we had digital cameras back in the old days! I have lots of neat digi pics of the grandkids but I don't want to really scrap those cause they themselves & their mama's will do that. Not only do I have few pics of my own kids & practically none(literally) of my childhhod Christmas the pics I have are very poor quality.To make things worse I am bad at journaling but I guess that would be the main way to recapture my own past holiday time.

I joined her CT as a part timer! Carmen has been very kind to agree to my part time statis on her team & I am very grateful for that. It is alot of fun to be on a CT yet it is quite a committment too_ one I am not ready to do full time right now with the holidays coming up & all. But I will do my best as a part timer & hopefully it will work out.

I have so few photos of my kids I could cry. I only have about 5 Halloween pics of them.Yet we went trick & treating every single year. It always was such an exciting time .

The black & white photo on the LO is a very bad photo to use on a LO but it is the only one I have of me with (at least one) of my kids at Halloween time & it brings back memories for me.And that is the whole purpose of digiscrapping isn't it? Preserve our memories.
